Our Off-road Builds
Welcome to our off-road builds! Discover the evolution of our 4WD setups, why we chose each one, and the pros and cons of each set up.

Campervan vS Off-Road Builds
From hiring campervans, to creating our own off-road builds. When we first started travelling in Australia, we had no idea what kind of setup would suit us best. We initially rented a few vans from Camplify and enjoyed short trips with campervans. However, we soon realised that there were many places we wanted to explore that these vehicles simply couldn’t reach. That’s when it became clear: to truly experience the real Australia, we needed a 4WD.

2024
Land Cruiser 79 Series & Tommy Camper
Over the years and through our travels across several states, we’ve gained valuable experience in 4WDing, camping, and overlanding. Now, as we prepare to travel full-time around the country, we’ve upgraded to our dream car: a Land Cruiser 79 series with a Tommy Camper. This setup suits our needs perfectly for our full-time adventure.

2022
Jeep Wrangler & Patriot Camper Trailer
Having no prior experience with 4WDing, choosing our first vehicle was quite overwhelming. By the end of 2021, we decided on a Jeep Wrangler, primarily for its 4×4 capability, price, and warranty. Initially, we considered fitting out the Jeep, but since we weren’t traveling full-time, we didn’t want to drive around the Sunshine Coast—our home away from home—with a fully kitted setup.
Instead, we opted for a high-quality off-road camper trailer and purchased the X1N Patriot Camper Trailer with a rooftop tent from The Bush Company.
